Choreographer and Director Jochen Ulrich (1944-2012) was a master of the magical realism of dance who was instrumental in shaping the Landestheater over the last six years. Following his death in November 2012, Mei Hong Lin, the former Director of the Dance Theatre at the Hessian Staatstheater Darmstadt, assumed this position in Linz. The choreographer with international experience and charisma was born in Taiwan and began her education in classic Chinese dance. She subsequently studied in Rome and with Pina Bausch in Essen at the Folkwangschule. At the Landestheater Linz, she works on literary material and musical works with her ensemble of 15 dancers and, in doing so, covers a very wide spectrum.
